Chapter 3: The Adders' Homepage
When you log in to iVia, the first page you encounter is the Adders' Homepage (which is also known as the main menu. From this page, Adders can access all the collection creation and maintenance tools available through iVia.
Figure 4.1 shows the body of the main menu page. There are many options available, all grouped into major sections like Adding and Editing Records, The iVia Toolbox, Review Partially-Completed Records, and so on. Some options may be hidden: the exact list depends on the type of Adder, the access granted to them, and the work they have saved in the pending database.

The database management pages have a consistent style, and the page decorations offer access to several important features. The Adders' Home link at the top right returns the user to the Adders' Homepage, and the Public Home is a link to the main iVia Homepage. The Adders' Manual link provides access to this manual.
The record search box near the top left provides easy access to any record in the database whose record_id you know: just enter it in the box and click on the Go button. Beneath this is a panel describing the iVia installation with a record of recent announcements from the system administrators.
